Fire Fox 2 Launch Party
Mozilla is launching Firefox 2, Ekuverin in association with MVHackers is hosting a Firefox 2 Launch party here in Maldives on the 27th Oct which is a part of the world wide celebration. As of now there are 323 Firefox 2 launch party to be held all over the world. This would be a great event with several thrilling stuff and a great opportunity which would bring together several IT professionals and enthusiastic to the same Hall.

World Blood Donor Day
14th June 2006 is the world blood donor day. Ekuverin is hosting a record breaking blood donation program in association with the National Thalassaemia Center. This event is planned to be hosted on 28th and 29th of June 2006 from 09:00Hrs to 17:00hrs. More arrangement and implementation of this event is underway which we believe is going to be a huge success as we are already getting very positive feedback from several blood donors and related authorities. International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking 26th June 2006
The chained organization which consist of “ekuverin”, “Youth for equality”, “Journey”, “Utopian Culture”, “Atoll Recreation Club”, “Society for Social Services” NNCB & UNICEF is working on a grand anti drug campaign to mark the international day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking 2006. We are plotting several events to mark this day. The events we are currently working on is listed below

Petition calling for the broadcasting of People’s Majlis and People’s Special Majlis sittings on state television and radio
An Theawaykid affiliated NGO “Youth For Equality” has launched a petition calling for the broadcasting of People’s Majlis and People’s Special Majlis sittings on state television and radio. This is a request by the youth of this nation to get access to the uncensored broadcasting of Both the Majlis sittings at this crucial time of major amendments to the constitution which decides most of our youths and the nation’s future, as it is our duty to monitor it in order to ascertain that the work is carried forth in a manner most beneficial to all.

Theawaykid is a part of the National Drug Disposal Committee
Theawaykid is proud to announce that the two founder member of our NGO has been elected to the National Drug Disposal Committee for duration of 1 year. ekuverin is the first and the only NGO who has got this opportunity till date. The National Drug Disposal Committee is the responsible authority for disposal of the Drug’s sized by police raids and drug busts. An opportunity like this has increased our role in the fight against narcotics in Maldives; hence we would like to assure the concerned authorities responsible for granting us this honor, that we will work hard in the cause of counter narcotics in this nation. May Almighty Allah grant us success in all what we do.

The Citizens of Maldives,are very concerned about the recently discovered 1.6 tons of Hashish in Maafaru Lagoon near Alifu Alifu Gangehi resort by lobster catchers. Considering the enormous amount of drugs that were discovered, this must be given high priority and regarded as a serious affair. As you are well aware, many Maldivians are falling under the influence of drugs, and since it is a national hazard special attention must be given to investigate and destroy the drugs. Therefore, we call upon the government and concerned authorities to conduct a transparent investigation into the matter and destroy the drugs as soon as possible, in the presence of independent media.

About Us
Theawaykid is an online Maldivian friends’ community which was established on 21th January 2005. Theawaykid was initiated by a group of online friends studying at different location, namely Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, India, Turkey and some areas of Maldives. Today we have member strength of 1400 (as on 15th August 2005) all over the world. Some of the countries apart from different areas of Maldives are Australia, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Turkey, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, London, United States, Gulf Nations, Hong Kong, Taiwan, etc …
The history of ekuverin forum might be short, but it has undergone lots of amazing events over the past 3 months. It was first started in a very informal way with the collaboration of one of our friends. The actual work of Theawaykid was starting with an uploading of a test forum named as ‘CE4rum’. This created a good support for us to start with Theawaykid forum. And as at 21th January 2005, Theawaykid forum was launched. It was first launched as a discussion forum with few topics. The few members which were registered made an attempt to post new ideas and expressed their views about the forum. The number of registrations and posts increased tremendously. Thus, the administrative team decided to increase the number of topics, sub topics, and everything they can to make the aim ‘a forum for the community’ more fervent and exciting.
Until today, we have been undergone several events on the occasion of different festive. Like an undercover upgrading process, we brought the soccer updates coverage on time to time basis, enabled all its users to use Dhivehi font in their posts, widely opened a chat room for our users to make friends and get to know each other more, new avatars and emotions were introduced, mail service provided, easy features to communicate with our team, prayer times table introduced, expansion of the team working in the background serving to bring these features, made partnership with unbound4rum and many more came up with those.
Apart from what we have mentioned above, we celebrated three special occasions. The world environment day 2007, a special campaign to mark the world’s Anti-drug and special independence day celebration were amongst the most remarkable. We even publicized a broachers specially published to mark the world anti-drug day and a chat counseling session was undergone the same day. Our primary objective is to help our fellow Maldivians who stay far from their home land and those who are at different locations of Maldives, to get known to each other to know about the current events in the Maldives.
Theawaykid community is still a young community but it has touched the lives of all members of this community. Youngsters and youths have been providing us with vast number of visionary ideas for the entire society. We have managed our community through careful planning and thus the benefits while conserving, enjoying and helping those who were in need of knowledge. Our cultures may be different at stance, but we both rule the world using the same tactic. As long as our dreams and hopes are to create a community of passion, it would not be wilted.
